Bar Giornale in Munich

A few years ago, the place offered exceptional value for money. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case now but the dishes remain absolutely excellent, simply more expensive. Limited card and which changes every day, this is a very good sign. Typical Schwabing clientele, very strong. Large terrace. Variable service, some days excellent and fast, others abominable.

My wife and I went to the bar Giornale Essen, as we have often done when we are in Munich. The atmosphere on the terrace was very relaxing and the food, as always, delicious. We noticed the new and very courteous service staff straight away. Especially the French waiter, who gave us an evening with his extraordinary high service and his charming manner that we will remember fondly for a long time.

Very good pasta and salads. Wine was very good too. Very child-friendly to use. All in all, a place where you feel comfortable and where you can have a good dinner.

Great location and ambience spoiled by inattentive and slow service. Waitress kept speaking German despite ordering in English.. bummer for an international City like Munich. Please train your staff to be nicer!

Excellent food in a pleasant atmosphere and very attentive service. We had a wonderful evening and I can recommend Bar Giornale to anyone who likes really good Italian food!

The Bar Giornale, which my wife and I came across by chance, which can only be seen at second glance, is like an oasis for gourmets of authentic Italian cuisine. I have seldom seen the unobtrusive table presence and the friendliness of the service. The food is tasty and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Conclusion Great praise

After a long sunbath in the English Garden, we went hungry in the pretty outdoor lounge and were immediately taken care of by the very attentive and courteous staff :) The food was delicious and priced (for this top location) very affordable!

The opening times have been changed and having a coffee / restaurant closed on Sunday is super disappointing ?????? should be rethought urgently! Location is great and the food has improved again! Would be great if you can go there again on weekends (Sundays) in the future.

This restaurant has really good atmosphere. And the service was great. But the food was n’t really special in comparison to the quality of what they have. Bar Giornale is a great choice for a quality Italian restaurant near the Schwabing area. The atmosphere was good and the furniture was well arranged and the lighting was very friendly. But the food came out quite late, and the quality of the food did not come particularly unusually compared to the many good factors they had.

Nice ambience with a touch of retro chic. Food was good and generously portioned.

Good Italian food...

The vegan menu pre-ordered 3 weeks in advance during a company party was forgotten. The staff was poorly briefed. There was no apology from the owner. The then quickly thrown together three courses were for a festive course menu quite a joke (based on compilation and quantity). Apart from that, the whole table had to wait until my meal was done. The wine was good - and therefore the food was bearable for me - so 1 star ?

Relatively quiet for being right at Leopoldstraße. Service is quick and friendly. The food is very good, especially for the price you pay. Was there during a more quiet time - it's probably a good idea to book a table...

Sit outside for lunch and enjoy life and food. It can be that simple sometimes. Small map. Nice service, mixed audience. But before the Porsche driver is less of a face-off driver. High Rolex quota on the wrists. Nothing for every day but I like to go there.

Friendly greeting but unfriendly service, high prices. 'forgot' our espresso but billed it. After asking the reply was not a sorry but a 'oh yeah I will bring it to you', shortly after the cup was literally thrown onto the table. Will most likely not return.

Cozy, genuine, and laid back Italian restaurant with an amazing relaxing outdoor garden. Feels like in Italy. Food is very Italian and very good, recommending the grilled octopus.
